After 23 hours of travel, we're here!
Kennady, Landon, and Carson, we miss you already!!! Right now you're in bed sleeping and we're waiting on Travis, the Gladney Agency worker to call us back. He is picking up another couple at the airport and is supposed to bring Ava to us a little later.
It's another world here, for sure. We woke up this morning, after 3 hours of sleep to the sound of a man talking on a PA system (in Amharic, of course), goats bellowing, roosters crowing, dogs barking, and some weird bell ringing. We looked out our balcony window to see 3 mules searching for food. Roaming in the free with all of the other animals. And some men and women opening up their shops on the side of the road, careful to cover the food with sheets of tin to keep out the animals.
I see lots of children with backpacks on their way to school. There is a school right across the street from us, but we couldn't see anything in the dark when we arrived last night. We don't want to go out right now because we're afraid we'll miss Travis' call.
We're nervous. Can't believe we're about to meet our daughter! Met a couple from Wisconsin who are getting their 5-year-old son today. They are from a different agency and are actually going to his orphanage to pick him up. They've given us some tips on things we MUST see. It makes me sad to see all of the poverty. All around us while we stay in this beautiful guest home.
Kennady, Carson, and Landon, when you wake up, we pray you have a great day! We love you dearly! And, we took a picture of the biggest plane in the world!!!
Love you all,
I'll report back today again, after Ava gets here.

Hello to All!
I wanted to develop a blog so that friends and family (especially Kennady, Landon, and Carson) could keep updated on us while we're in Ethiopia. I'm new at this. It won't be anything fancy! Just lots of pictures.
